The Stars hit the ice on Wednesday night on the heels of another back to back pair of losses. Tonight the Stars were welcoming Ted Adams, who was filling in for Andrew. After giving up an early goal the Stars fought back to take a 2-1 lead. Dan opened the scoring taking a pass from Tim and Jim. A short time later Tim and Bob hooked up to slide one past the Caps goalie.
The Second period would end with the score at 3 goals apiece, once again it was Dan who hooked up with Doug to produce the Stars goal. Period 3 would be filled with plenty of action, as both teams had plenty of oppertunities squashed by the other teams goalies. In the end Doug Roy gets the game winning goal on a pass from Bob and Jesse. The Stars are off till next wednesday when the match up with the Red Wings.1-8-2012
Following the 7-1 defeat at the hands of the Rangers, the Stars hit the ice on Sunday lookiing to reclaim some of their dignity. They took to the ice facing the Pens and their potent offense, led by captain Ken Bosworth. The fans were treatet to a great contest between these two squads, and in the end a few bounces here and there led to a final score of 2-1 in favor of the Pens.
The Black shirts are back in action Wednesday night when they face the Caps at 8:15.12-15-2011
After suffering a crushing defeat on Wednesday night, the Stars returned to the ice Thursday night to face the Sharks. Once again without Ken Howell, and also tonight without Doug Roy. The team would have to dig deep into their bag of tricks to come up with some goals. Dave Horvath would answer that bell, as he took a pass from John Van Rijn, and Gerry to put the stars on the board first.
Next team goals leader Tim Bator would take the Pass from Callie Warta and put the stars out to a 2-0 lead. But you can't keep a good team down, and the Sharks started to fight back. Clawing back to tie the score at 2 apiece. Midway thru the 3rd period the Sharks would take a one goal lead. Andrew did his part making some eye popping saves to keep the sharks scorers from running away with the game. The defense of Josh, Bob, John, and Dave Henderson kept the shooters from getting clean looks at the net as well. So it was time to dig deeper and find a way to tie the score.
Again it was the combo of Dave Horvath, John, and Gerry that combined to tie the game at three. Unfortunately that is as far as it goes scoring wise, as the game ends in a 3-3 tie. Both teams left it on the ice tonight, there were numerous battles for loose pucks , and both teams won their share. In the end neither team deserved to take a loss, so a tie was the best ending possible.
All the teams are now off till after the Christmas break, when they will continue the push to the playoffs.

The Stars took to the ice on Wednesday night with 8 skaters and Andrew in goal. After giving up 3 goalls in the 1st period the Stars Bob Bourget broke the lid on the net miid-way thru the 2nd period. Unfortunatly that would be the only goal scored by the team in Black tonight. The Stars will look to rebound next Wednesday night when they hook up with the Pens.

The Stars returned to the ice on Sunday night stuffed with turkey and looking for a win. After the thrashing they took during their last 2 games they were looking to improve in the goal scoring department, and improve they did scoring 4 goals in the 1st period on the way to a 8-4 win over the Caps.
Getting an early start in that area was Dan Jenkins who benefitted on some sweet passing by Doug and Tim, to score on the 1st shift of the game. That would kick off the scoring that would see 3 players notch 2 goals and 2 assists each on the night. Those were Tim, Ken, and Dan, not to be out done Jesse picked up a goal and 2 assists and Bob gets the eventual game winner with a power play goal, and 2 assists. Doug, and Jim Dinger pick up 1 assist each to round out the scoring.
Only 1 penalty on the night as Dave Henderson gets whistled for an interference call, that had Tim and Gerry both wondering if it was going to be a big one. But the referee decided it was just interference and not a check from behind, so off to the sin bin where Dave “felt much shame for 3 minutes then he go free”.
Andrew made several great saves to keep the caps off the board, as they were held scoreless thru the 1st period and only managed to get 1 goal in the 2nd. But the 3rd period they flooded the zone time after time and managed to get 2 pucks by him. Still he kept a ton of rubber out of the net all night.
The Stars are off till next Wednesday night when they finish the series with the Caps.
11-20-2011
The Red Wings jumped on the Stars early, and cruised to a 4-0 win on Sunday night. The wings scored on the 1st shift of the game, and proceded to score 2 more in the 1st period.
Neither team could find the back of the net in the 2nd period, but the wings would add a goal in the 3rd. After Thanksgiving the Stars will try to regroup on Sunday night as they take on the Caps.11-17-2011 After a scoreless 1st period on Thursday night , the Stars Ken Howell opened the scoring taking the pass from Bob Bourget and depositing it into the net. The score remained 1-0 Stars till the end of the 2nd period. Midway thru the 3rd period the Red Wings would break the ice to tie the score at 1 apiece.
For the 2nd game in a row the Stars were victimized by the whistle, called for 4 penalties on the night compared to 1 for the Red Wings. The Wings cashed in on the final power play of the night with 15 seconds remaining in the game.
The Stars take the ice again on Sunday night against the same Red Wing team.11-14-2011
Last Night the Stars ran into the BuzzSaw known as the Penguins. The Stars gave up 2 goals befor substitute Goalie Carrera Noelcher could get into the net .Carrera held her own only allowing 1 goal in her 17: minutes in net , she was replaced by Andrew when he arrived. The Pens managed to get 2 goals off the Stars regular net-minder.
The Stars struggled all night as they were handicapped by no less then 5 penalty infractions. Doug opened the scoring for the Stars on a pass from Bob, Later Ken would pick up a goal of his own. After a short rest the Stars are back in action on Thursday night against the Red Wings.
11-10-2011
After a slight delay due to the Zamboni running out of propane while doing the pregame cut, the Stars hit the ice all 9 skaters strong, facing the 1st place Sharks. Kevin and company were sporting a full bench with the full cast of shooters. But the Stars were feeling pretty good, playing without Bob and John on defense it would mean Josh, Jesse and Gerry would have to play solid tonight. And solid they were, stopping numerous attempts by the sharks forwards to flood the crease area.
Ken opened the scoring for the Stars on a pass from Josh and Gerry midway thru the 1st period, shortly after Doug would score with Dave Horvath supplying the pass. Next would be Tim the beneficiary of a solid defensive play by Vidal, who deflected a centering pass by a Shark winger in on a "2 on 1", the deflection is picked up by Tim and he was off on an odd man rush of his own, resulting in the puck in the Sharks net. Ken then finishes off the Stars scoring on a pass from Tim and Dan.
There were 3 penalties whistled against the Stars on the night, 2 of them combined to give the Sharks a 2 min 2 man advantage, but the defense and back-checking by the Stars penalty killers was stone cold solid. The penalty kill allowed no goals tonight . Andrew played another in his string of solid games, as the Sharks didn’t score their 2nd goal until the final minute of play. Next up is a Monday night match with the Pens .
10-30-2011
The Stars took the ice on Sunday evening with Coach Gerry on the bench, (not playing due to an undisclosed lower body injury), so the already short bench was one player shorter. But the 9 Skaters and Andrew in net, pulled the laces a bit tighter and hit the ice hard. After a scoreless 1st period that saw both teams feeling each other out, the Stars broke the ice on a shot from the left post by Dave Horvath. Tim gets the assist on this one, and at the end of 2 the score stood tied at 1 apiece.
By the start of the 3rd period the even shorter bench of the Pens( 6 skaters) was starting to take effect, as some signs of fatigue were apparent. Midway through the 3rd period Tim bangs one of his own in from Doug and Jesse, then Dan would take a feed from Bob and slide it home for the team in Black. As time was running out the Pens did pull their goalie to try and pressure the defense of the Stars, but to no avail as the Stars hold off the Pens for a 3-1 victory. The Stars have the next 6 days off and will then play game 4 of the season against the Rangers, on Sunday night. With the rangers holding a 2 games to 1 margin the Stars will be looking to snag a victory to even the series.
10-27-2011
A Hat trick is what it took on Thursday night for the Stars to beat the Rangers in game 3 of their 4 game set. Stars Assistant captain Tim Bator scored 3 times tonight to give the Team a much needed win over their rivals the Rangers. The Attack line of Tim, Dave Horvath, and Dan Jenkins combined for all 3 goals, while the Line of Gerry, Jesse and Henry did their best to slow down the fore-checking of Matt and Aaron .
Andrew played another gem of a game turning aside multiple shots by the sniping forwards Matt Lemond, and Gavin Anderson. Both teams were missing Key components, as the Rangers were minus team captain Kirby, and the Stars were without John, Doug, Ken, Carrie, and Calli. The Stars Defense of Bob, Josh, and Dave Henderson kept the Rangers forwards out of the front of the net all night, limiting them to outside shots.
A frenzied final 2 minutes saw the Rangers pull their goalie in favor of the extra attacker, but the Stars stood strong as Henry was the designated chase man and the other 4 players on the Ice played defense. This strategy paid off, as it limited the Rangers to any good looks at the goal. In the end Stars take the win 3-2.
Next Game is another 9:45 start on Sunday night, this time against the Pens.
10-23-2011
The Stars enter Sunday nights’ contest looking to extend their win streak to 3 games, but they would have to beat a potent Rangers offense led by Kirby Rhodus. The stars jumped out to an early lead on a goal by team captain Gerry Vidal, assisted by Ken Howell. Later in the period Ken would take a pass from Jim Dinger and Gerry and deposit it into the Rangers net.
The Rangers would score a goal of their own in period #2, to bring the score to 2-1 at the end of 2. Period #3 saw plenty of action at both ends of the ice, the results of which saw Jim Dinger scoring on a pass from Jesse Jamie. The Rangers would score 2 of their own goals to tie the game at 3 with under 5 minutes to play. But with 1:30 left in the game Matt would score his 2nd goal of the game to put the Rangers out front. Try as they might to score,(goalie pulled for extra attacker), it would not be tonight, as the Stars fall to the Rangers 4-3 .
These same 2 teams square off Thursday night at 7:45.
10-20-2011Tonight’s featured match-up in rink 2(Dunbar-v-Trinity high school in Rink1), pitted the Sharks and the Stars against one another. The Sharks entered the night leading the Stars by 2 points in the league standings. The Sharks were without their team Captain Kevin Kuawabara and his strong defensive play. After a scoreless 1st period Tim Bator knocked in a Dave Henderson pass to put the Stars on the scoreboard.
The goal post was very unkind to the Stars tonight as it seemed to get in the way of several high quality shots, some of which rang the post like the bell in the old North Church steeple. Tim would later pick up his 2nd goal of the game, a power play goal just as time expired. This time he hooked up with Jim Dinger. He was victimized by MR. Post later in the game denying him of his natural Hat Trick.
Late in the 3rd period Brad Petersen arrived on the Sharks bench, and immediately he contributed with a goal for the Boys in Teal. The Stars then clamped down the defense another notch, and held off the push from the Sharks, who were on a power play for the final 3 minutes of the game. Andrew Bane played another stellar game tonight, as he made several excellent glove saves.
Next up for the Stars is a late Sunday night match with the Rangers.
10-13-2011
On Thursday night the Stars were looking to avenge the 6-1 beating the Red Wings exacted upon them last week. Tonight the Stars had defense specialist John Van Rijn back in the line-up, but were minus the emerging offensive presence of Ken Howell. The Red wings were playing with a short bench, so Devon Lent was added as a guest player to their line-up.
The Stars opened the scoring early with team captain Gerry Vidal picking up his 1st goal of the season. A short time later Doug Roy would get his 1st goal of the season on a tip in of a Dan Jenkins shot. The Stars played very stingy defense all night, and when tested Andrew came up with the glove and blocker big time.
The Second period saw Jim Dinger picking up a goal, with Doug and Henry getting the helpers, unfortunately Jim also picked up a penalty on the goal as his momentum carried him into the Red Wings tender(and former Stars goalie) Tom Harrison, so off to the “Sin Bin “ for Jim . While sitting feeling much shame, for his actions the Red Wings poked in a Power Play Goal. That set the final margin at 3-1 . The Stars next take to the ice on Thursday the 20th against the Sharks.
